A place to submit your stories of failure in Africa.
Rule: you must provide at least ONE alternative idea, or suggestion, on how this could have been a success.
Suggestion was perhaps several trips at worst. At best, bus or other means of transport where they would not be so exposed to the elements or danger of critical injury.
I do hope they made it to their destination safe and sound.
Suggestion: use the helmet sitting right in front of you on the handlebars… Really, I’ve seen a lot of guys who had to make do, but this guy has a workable helmet that’s unused.
Those who have lived in Africa know this isn’t staged. It might be excessive, but not staged. My suggestion? Hell, I don’t know what to say… maybe make wider roads?
Yes, this is probably one of the funniest things to see in Africa… Snap your favorite signs, billboard and poster failings in Africa, send them this way. This definitely needs its own category!
When a chair that probably had seen better days decided to go asunder, right under the very eminent Mr. Nene, who at the time was being interviewed live in studio on SABC2’s A View from the House, it shot him to instant interweb celebrity.
The horror of it all as he looks, desperately hopeful that there would be no aftershocks after the initial thunderous crack as some seemingly important bits of the chair suspension gave in followed seconds later by the full collapse right in the middle of his reply.
What I think takes the cake here is that the presenter skipped right onto the next news item like dude had not a scant instant previously, vanished under the desk! A right trooper, I know I would have definitely joined him under the table clutching my sides as I laughed my head off.
He was apparently retrieved and handed a new chair and the interview proceeded after a short ad break.
Front view, note the spiral steel staircase. No, it is not the fire escape.
We are moving on up, to a highrise apartment in the skyhiiiigh…The Jeffersons sure did not have this apartment in mind when they were writing that theme song, yes?
